What I don't like about but is the extracurriculars associated with it. The focus seems less on the basketball court and NBA 2K22 MT more on your NBA career than it has ever been. Music and fashion seem to serve as extra-curricular activities but they're the primary aspect of the game every time they're brought up.
This year's version is one of the more dull stories in recent series in history. I believe the reason is everything is focused on you. 2K21 had a fun G League path where you got to know your teammates while you created your character and was preparing in advance for the draft. In 2K22, there's no emotion-based connection to your team's pre-draft.
Because all that seems to matter is building your personal brand. If you're that kind of fan who truly gets excited at the number of followers that you've gained every game 2K22's MyCareer might be the perfect fit However, to me, it was an uninspired introduction into the yearly VC and badge grind.
I enjoy the buildout of the city. I feel that the new NPC's add a lot of life to what was otherwise, a boring space. I'd like be able to swiftly travel to locations other than my apartment sometimes but it's finally feeling like a vibrant and lively space. And I don't think I've ever thought of before.
The city of 2K22 is larger than ever before... however, this isn't necessarily a good thing. It's as if the 2K team is working on an MMO that focuses on basketball. There are daily quests that can be found throughout the city, and you're requested to NBA 2K Coins move from one area to another to attend a meeting.
